You are eligible for the ESNcard, if you belong to one of the following groups:
Incoming student, intern, trainee, apprentice, or volunteer taking part in the Erasmus+ programme, European Solidarity Corps, or another mobility programme
International full degree student
ESN Volunteer/Buddy/Alumni
If you are a local student accepted into a mobility programme you should buy your ESNcard from the university or city of your destination. We do not issue cards to students completing their exchange in another country, you should contact the section in your host location. If you need help finding their contact details, we’re happy to help.
Your ESN Aalto membership entitles you to specific discounts related to events and activities organized by ESN Aalto and ESN Helsinki United. The ESNcard is the membership card of the Erasmus Student Network, it entitles you to discounts all over Europe. When you purchase an ESN Aalto membership (such as the ESNcard Basic, or the Extreme Semester Pass) on Kide.app, an ESNcard is included at no additional charge. Just drop by during our service desk hours to collect it!

Yes, our events are open to everyone. However, for paid events, members and ESNcard holders receive a guaranteed discount, so it’s worth getting one.
Usually yes, but please check with the section organising the event/activity. Some sections might require you to buy their membership in order to join their events.
You can pick up your card during service desk hours, as announced in the Telegram group. Service desks always take place on campus, but the exact location may change, so please read the announcement carefully. During the semester we try to hold a service desk every week, however towards the end of the semester and during exam periods they might be less frequent. If you need to pick up your card urgently, feel free to contact us via email at board@esnaalto.org or through Telegram, and we will do our best to arrange an alternative solution for you.
You will need to show proof of your purchased membership in Kide.app. Please also bring your ID, a printed passport-like photo of yourself (27x37 mm), and proof of your mobility status (digital version is enough). If you don’t have a photo with you, you can add it later too.
Yes, but they have to be prepared to present the same proofs and documents that would be requested from you. Digital versions, screenshots, and pictures are also accepted.
In order to use the international discounts you have to register your card at esncard.org. For discounts at ESN Aalto events your ESN Aalto membership on Kide.app is enough.
The membership and card are valid for 12 months, they cannot be purchased for shorter periods of time. As long as your ESNcard has not expired, you can use it for all ESNcard discounts in Europe, even after you return home.
Please take care of your card. If you lose it you will need to buy a new membership in Kide.app, just like how you did the first time.
You can always renew your membership, as long as you are still part of one of the categories mentioned in “Who can get the ESNcard?”. All you have to do is purchase a new membership and pick up your new ESNcard from the service desk.
ESNcards are not valid student cards, which are exclusively supplied by universities. You can benefit from the ESNcard discounts, but ESNcards are not always accepted for regular student discounts.
After confirming your purchase, we can provide you the number upon request. For this please reach out to us via email at board@esnaalto.org or through our Telegram group. Please keep in mind that for many of the international discounts (including Ryanair) you must have your physical ESNcard with you at the time of use. If you don't, you may be required to pay the difference on site.
